Group of Institutions, Kalalmajra organized various activities under theme of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan in association with SDM office and under guidance of SDM Mrs. Manjeet Kaur on 11th November, 2022. Dr. Kanika Kumar (MD, Psychiatry & Medical Officer, Civil Hospital, Khanna) was the keynote speaker and Mr. Navtej Sharma (Principal, GSSS, Rajewal &Nodal Officer, Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan) was the special invitee. Dr. Harpreet Singh (Director) welcomed the guests and introduced them to students. He spoke about the alarming figures of drug addiction in the state and asked students to take a vow against the menace. Dr. Kanika Kumar elaborated the psychological impact of drug abuse and the rising cases of drug abuse among youth. She also cautioned students against stumbling to the lure of drugs. Principal Navtej Sharma motivated youth to shun drug abuse and channelize their energy to sports and co-curricular activities. The Fine arts Club organized a slogan writing competition on the theme and Sarandeep Kaur (BBA-I), Poonam Sharma (BBA-III) & Gurjot Singh (B.Com.(H)-I) were declared first, second and third, respectively. In speech competition conducted by the Literary club on topic – Youth and Drug Abuse, Pardeep Kaur (B.Com.(H)-I), Vishal Sharma (B.Com.(H)-V) and Rizwan (BBA-III) were declared first, second and third, respectively. A rally to village Kalalmajra was also organized by the college in which students conducted awareness and raised slogans against drug addiction. The speakers were awarded with a token of honour. Prizes were also awarded to the winners. Prof. Navneet Bhaskar administered a pledge on the occasion.
