Tourism and allied industry is one of the biggest tools to provide employment

Fatehgarh Sahib, September 26, 2018: Tourism and allied industry is one of the biggest tools to provide employment in comparison to any other sector as it contributes approximately 10% employment in the world. Punjab in the last one and a half year has attained 7th position in the country from 27th position by virtue of efforts of the State Govt. Golden Temple Amritsar has been declared by the World book of records as most visited destination in the world, where one Lakh people come to pay obeisance daily. Similarly the State Govt. has decided to develop Sanghol falling in the district as world class tourist destination, said Shiv Dular Singh Dhillon Deputy Commissioner and former Director Tourism, while addressing a function organised at Cordia College Sanghol to celebrate World Tourism Day  today.
He said that Anand Pur Sahib based Virasat-e –Khalsa museum is also becoming the second most visited place in India.
He said that it is a matter of proud for the State that Govt. Of India has selected 33 blocks all over the country to develop as tourist destinations and Sanghol is only block from the State, which will be developed by Union Ministry of Rural Development along with Tourism Ministry. He said Sanghol has 5000 year old Harappa excavation Stuppas, utensils and it will be made Archaeology, historical and religious delight and major centre for Buddhist. He said way side high class eateries, conveniences; gift shops will be set up so that the tourist may stop there. Besides this heritage walk will be developed.
He said besides this Fatehgarh Sahib will also be developed as major tourist centre in State as it has the highest religious places of Sikhs, Hindus, Muslims and Mughal emperors Aam Khas Bagh, so that tourist may visit all the spots.
He called upon the educational institutions to provide quality education to our youths, so that they may get employment in top tourist resorts and related establishment. Punjab has a great scope for flourishing the tourism industry
