DPS Khanna organized a high tea for the toppers & high achievers and their proud parents on the 30th of July, 2022. The students who brought laurels to the school by scoring top positions in the CBSE Board examinations in the city were honoured at the event.
It was a historic occasion for the whole DPS family. There was a glow of contentment on the parents’ faces at the splendid achievement of their wards.
Many students shared their experiences on the occasion. Irsheen Kaur Mander said in her speech that just like it takes a whole village to raise a child it takes the whole school to make a meritorious student. She pointed out that a strong foundation is required for skyscrapers which DPS Khanna provided to her.
Anmolpreet Kaur, the second city topper of the Grade XII Board Exam advised the youngsters of DPSK to manage their time judiciously. She insisted, "There is no point in wasting time for tuition particularly in the company of friends as students lose everything they gain in school."
The city topper of the Grade X Board Exam Arjun Singla said that Dipsites should focus on understanding the concepts and getting fundamentals clear in their heads, rather than chasing high marks.
Karandeep Gill, the topper of the Humanities stream reminded the audience that Covid-19 pandemic brought innumerable problems for the him and his fellow students but the school provided them with all the guidance they required. He said that his goal was to join the Civil Services.
The Chairman Mr DS Bains congratulated all the students and he advised their parents to let them pursue their dreams. In the olden days, there were only two careers- engineering and medicine and some considered civil services as the only options. But now many lucrative career options like architecture, advertising, business administration, law, pharmacy, hotel management, journalism and in sports, music and in art are available. Nowadays many students are opting to study overseas, especially in Canada.
He advised the parents not to worry whether their children would be able to manage their stay & studies abroad but they should have confidence in their children. He said, “Ships are safest in the harbour, but they are not built for being anchored. Ships have to sail the seas and create opportunities.
