disclosed in a press conference that as Khanna Police has started a special campaign
against drug peddlers, Bad Characters/Elements & misdemeanors, to curb out the
menace of drug smuggling from the society, Under the Supervision of Sh. Jasvir Singh,
PPS. SP/I/Khanna & Sh. Deepak Rai PPS, DSP/Khanna, Insp. Baljinder Singh
SHO/Sadar Khanna’s SI Gurjant Singh, ASI Amar Singh & ASI Sukhwinderpal Singh
I/C/PP/Issru alongwith police party were checking the suspected vehicles/persons
during the Special Nakabandi at G.T. Road near Village Libra. While checking, one
person was coming from Khanna side by foot. After seeing the police party, he tried to
get back. On the suspicion, but police party stopped him for the checking purpose. He
was identified himself as Varinder Singh (age about 25/26 years) S/o Mohindepal Singh
R/o Mothawali PS/Sultanpur Lodhi, District Kapurthala. Sh. Deepak Rai, PPS,
DSP/Khanna was also present on the spot during the checking of above said person.
On the frisking of his bag, 1 Kg 500 gms of Heroin was recovered (which was wrapped
with polythene). A case FIR No. 198, dated 09.09.19 U/S 21/61/85 NDPS Act
PS/Sadar/Khanna has been registered & arrested him. The culprit is still being
questioning & there is a possibility of major disclosures.
