The Samrala Hockey Club today started its campaign to plant saplings in the year 2015. This campaign was inaugurated today by famous folk singer Manmohan Waris in the presence of the members of the hockey club.
Waris stressed on the need to plant more and more sampling for the betterment of environment to reduce the increasing pollution. He mentioned his song “Dheea bachao, rukh lagao te paani da satkar karo”. Club president Gurpreet Singh Bedi informed that the club had planted about 58,000 saplings till now and plans to enhance this count up to one lakh this year.
